Career
Sheriff Jack Parker began his law enforcement career with the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office in 1983. Between 1983 and 1997, Sheriff Parker was promoted through the ranks and served in several positions to include; Deputy Sheriff, Field Training Officer, Sergeant, Patrol Major, Jail Commander, and Director of Administration.
In 1997, he was selected as Brevard County’s “Director of Public Safety” and managed Fire and Rescue services, Criminal Justice Services and the Medical Examiners Office. Sheriff Parker served as Public Safety Director for a total of eight years until he was elected Sheriff in 2004.
In January of 2005, Jack Parker was sworn in as Sheriff after being elected by the citizens of Brevard County. Sheriff Parker now manages an agency of 1,400 Deputy Sheriffs, Correctional Officers, Employees, and Volunteers, and oversees an annual budget of 108 million dollars.
As the Sheriff of Brevard County, Sheriff Parker is responsible for variety law enforcement functions to include:
- Performing Law Enforcement Patrol Functions
- Responding to 911 Calls
- Conducting Criminal Investigations
- Conducting Crime Scene Investigations
- Serving Warrants and Apprehending “Wanted” Persons
- Operating the Brevard County Jail
- Maintaining Courtroom Security at all Courthouses
- Operating a 911 Communication and Dispatch center
- Registering and Tracking Sex Offenders
- Coordinating County Wide Task Forces
Education
Sheriff Parker is a graduate of Cocoa Beach High School, Brevard Community College, the University of Central Florida and holds a Bachelors degree in Public Administration. Sheriff Parker is one of the few Public Safety officials in Florida to have attended the Police Academy, the Corrections Academy, the Fire Fighting Academy and has earned State of Florida Certifications as a Police Officer, Corrections Officer, and Firefighter. Sheriff Parker has attended numerous law enforcement and public safety training courses throughout his 25 year career.

1995 and 1998 United Way “Campaign Achievement” Award for leading top campaigns in the Sheriff’s Office and Brevard County.
